Unlocking humanity and imagination: imagining an end to poverty

Unlocking our humanity and imagination: imagining an end to poverty.

(*Please note the date for this event has been changed from 20th October to 18th November 2022)

What if we could eradicate poverty? If we could imagine a different future, how would we work differently today and what would we do? This group will be using Moral Imaginations' methodology to imagine a world where poverty does not exist, helping us generate new perspectives, new ideas and see things from a different point of view . This will be guided by Phoebe Tickell, focusing on how we might change how we think about and tackle poverty. What can we learn from doing this exercise?

Come prepared to take part in an embodied imagination exercise and then brainstorming in small groups.

This event is part of a series exploring this question which cuts across the four behaviours in our model for change: How can we unlock our humanity and imagination? In our meetings in 2021, we identified that:

  • Our humanity can build bridges and move us to change.

  • Collective imagination can make a different future possible.

  • There are ways to make a different kind of space to listen deeply to each other, share our stories, and tell new ones.

But some people may feel this is a distraction or are uncomfortable with opening up. How can we overcome that hesitancy and mainstream these approaches?
