The Rational and Relational Lexicons
We’ve been discussing replacing the ‘rational lexicon’ of targets and standardisation with a ‘relational lexicon’, which could create the conditions for positive relationships to flourish everywhere and show the principles and behaviours to get there. These terms are taken from Julia Unwin’s Kindness, emotions and human relationships: the blind spot in public policy, published by the CarnegieUK Trust in November 2018, and this is how she set them out.
